How legitimate is John Chow dot com before I take the time to read his free ebook re making money online?

I'm guessing that even if what he recommends via his website about how to make money online is legitimate, that his results are not normal, and/or that some people have not had much success or had negative experiences. I appreciate any comments.

The problem has been getting paid for your work. There are many complaints from people who have actual credits for over $1,000 and asked to be paid. They get no money. At first they think that something is wrong. Later they realize that they worked for months for nothing. It seems that his site has no intention of paying them a penny.
